Senior GA Manager, Shanghai

Main Purpose and Job Scope

This position is responsible for leading the team to build and maintain positive government relations under the leadership of Shanghai Government Affairs director to support Starbucks business growth in Shanghai.

Candidates are mainly responsible to support the daily operational issues, licenses/permits in particular, through smooth communication/and coordination with government and semi-government departments/agencies in Shanghai.

Key Accountabilities Through day to day contact, cultivate, maintain and develop sound relationships with Shanghai government and semi-government agencies.

Licenses/permit responsibility: responsible for all kinds of certifications/permits that are needed for new stores opening as well as the existing stores’ yearly inspection.

Collect and track relevant laws and regulations and provide a monthly update report to Shanghai director of Government Affairs Assist to arrange/coordinate all levels of government meetings with key Shanghai government departments/officials.

Assist the partners of Shanghai stores to cultivate, maintain and develop sound relationships with the local governments.

Work closely with local store partners in each store to resolve daily operational issues.

Take care of new market entry related GA work, such as policy study, government meeting arrangement, lobbying and relationship building etc.

Travel as required to support GA events and Starbucks activities.

Taking leading role in resolving crisis that may affect branding name.

Worked as the Global Responsibility leader in Shanghai, supporting overall GR effort.

Requirements Minimum Bachelor degree, master or MPA is a plus 10+ years experiences working in a government affairs or business support position in Shanghai for an international company or organization.

Working experience in government is a plus.

Strong organizational skills, excellent judgment, extreme discretion and the ability to think proactively, strategically and work collaboratively.

Candidate must be a self-starter with a positive, enthusiastic attitude, high ethics, and a demonstrated track record of working successfully under pressure in a time-constrained environment.

Outstanding communication skills.

Fluent English and Chinese, written and spoken.
